First Nano Receives CE Mark For The EasyTube™ 2000 System
Santa Barbara, CA, December 17, 2004 – CE Mark clears way for commercialization of the EasyTube ™ 2000 System in European Union countries.
First Nano today announced that the EasyTube 2000 System has been granted the CE (Conformite Europene) Mark in accordance with Directive 72/23/EEC and 89/336/EEC. With the CE Mark, the company can now proceed with the commercialization of the EasyTube 2000 System in the European Union, as well as in other parts of the world that accept the CE Mark. The fully automated, high-throughput EasyTube 2000 System is a chemical vapor deposition tool for the synthesis of nanotubes and other nanostructured materials.
The EasyTube 2000 System is designed on a modular platform to facilitate smooth integration of modular components that offer maximum flexibility for various application research and product development. Modular options provide alternative methods to synthesize nanomaterials using a single precision instrument.
"The launch of the EasyTube 2000 System into Europe is an important milestone for First Nano," said Cary Chee, CEO. The EasyTube 2000 System provides a powerful combination of convenience and productivity. As we move into 2005, we expect that the EasyTube 2000 System will provide nanoscience researchers throughout the European Union with the means to increase productivity and efficiency of their product and application development processes.”
The European launch of the EasyTube 2000 System with its state-of-the-art automation, throughput and process control will be an important growth driver for us in 2005,” said Mr. Chee.
The CE Mark approval allowed a recent EasyTube 2000 System shipment to CEA (Commissariat a l’Energie Atomique) Grenoble, with a world-renowned nanotechnology research laboratory in Grenoble, France.
